Our client is a group of companies in Nigeria. Due to expansion, they are in need of a MARKETING MANAGER- NORTHERN REGION.
LOCATION : Northern Region
Job Summary : To develop and execute strategic marketing and sales initiatives that drive brand visibility, market share
growth, and profitability across the Northern Region. The role will oversee marketing operations for diverse product categories including tyres, pharmaceutical supplies, roofing sheets, plywood, and other building materials, ensuring strong market penetration and customer retention.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement the regional marketing plan in alignment with the company’s overall marketing strategy.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends across the different product categories.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key institutional buyers in the region.
- Design and manage promotional campaigns, trade activations, and brand visibility programs to support product performance and enhance market awareness.
- Collaborate with the Head Office marketing team to ensure consistent messaging, brand positioning, and product communication.
- Drive achievement of regional sales targets, ensuring product availability and efficient distribution.
- Identify and onboard new business opportunities, markets, and sales channels in both urban and semi-urban markets.
- Support pricing strategies by providing field-based insights on customer demand, competitor pricing, and product performance.
- Supervise and mentor the regional sales team to ensure effective territory coverage and target achievement.
- Build and maintain a robust dealer and retailer network across the region.
- Manage key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and service excellence.
- Coordinate credit sales and collections in line with company policies to minimize exposure to bad debt.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain and Finance teams to ensure product availability, cost
- control, and margin optimization.
- Partner with the Corporate Marketing team for brand campaigns, media engagement, and public relations in the region.
- Track and report regional sales and marketing performance, highlighting gaps and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide monthly reports on market trends, competitor activities, pricing movements, and customer feedback.
- Monitor ROI on marketing initiatives and recommend improvements where necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA is an added advantage).Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in sales and marketing, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.Proven track record in industrial or FMCG sectors, preferably with experience in tyres, building materials, or pharmaceutical distribution.Strong understanding of Northern Nigerian markets, consumer behavior, and distribution dynamics.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.Must be willing to travel extensively across the Northern Region.
