Role Overview
We’re looking for an energetic and strategic Business Development Specialist (BDS) to drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and closing B2B deals.
You will play a key role in expanding our distribution network, increasing revenue, and positioning Topton Jubilee Bakery as the preferred B2B bakery partner in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting
Identify and build a pipeline of potential B2B clients (mini-marts, caterers, schools, cafés, event planners, offices).
Conduct market research to understand potential customers’ needs, pricing expectations, and purchasing cycles.
Keep an updated list of leads with contact details and follow-up notes.
2. Sales & Client Acquisition
Pitch and present Topton Jubilee Bakery’s offerings professionally to prospective clients.
Negotiate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules in collaboration with management.
Close new deals and onboard new B2B clients consistently.
3. Relationship Management
Maintain regular contact with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat orders.
Gather feedback and suggest improvements in product offerings or delivery experience.
4. Reporting & Performance Tracking
Track daily outreach activities (calls, visits, messages, deals closed) using Google Sheets or CRM tools.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports showing progress towards sales targets.
5. Collaboration & Market Intelligence
Work with the marketing team on promotions, sample distributions, and local events.
Provide market insights and competitor analysis to inform product and pricing decisions.
Key Targets
Acquire 10 new bulk clients monthly.
Achieve ₦10 million in total sales for December (launch month) and ₦800,000+ in monthly recurring B2B sales by Month 3.
Maintain at least 80% repeat orders from acquired clients.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2–3 years experience in business development, sales, or marketing (preferably in FMCG, food, or catering industries).
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Field sales experience and familiarity with Lagos retail or catering markets.
Self-driven, persuasive, and excellent at closing deals.
Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for reporting is a plus.
