Job Title : Business Development Manager

Reports to : CEO

Location : Lagos, Nigeria

Employment Type : Full-time

About the Role :

As Business Development Manager, you will lead strategic sales and marketing initiatives to drive customer acquisition, revenue generation, and brand visibility for our Red Hat-focused solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping our GTM (go-to-market) plan, expanding our client base, and closing deals in a high-impact, early-stage startup environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Sales & Client Acquisition

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across sectors needing automation, containerization, and DevOps solutions.
  • Create and manage sales pipelines in CRM
  • Own the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with enterprise clients and tech buyers.
  • Regularly achieve or exceed monthly revenue targets.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

  • Design and execute digital and offline marketing strategies with internal and external teams.
  • Collaborate with graphic / content teams to run social campaigns, webinars, and product launches.
  • Coordinate outbound campaigns (email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn outreach) to generate qualified leads.
  • Represent Avance Systems at local tech and industry events, including speaking opportunities.
  • Partnership Development

  • Identify and manage strategic partnerships with resellers, training centers, or corporate clients.
  • Liaise with Red Hat or related vendors on joint initiatives or training promotions.
  • Close B2B deals, collaborations, and tech alliances that grow the brand footprint.
  • Team Collaboration & Reporting

  • Supervise and mentor the Business Development Officer.
  • Provide weekly sales / marketing reports to the CEO and recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Ops Lead and CTO on pricing, pipeline forecasting, and project scoping.
  • Requirements

  • 3–5 years in business development or sales, preferably in tech, consulting, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience selling services or products in a B2B setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confident with tools like HubSpot / Zoho CRM, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, and Canva.
  • Ability to operate independently and hit sales KPIs in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Passion for Red Hat, OpenShift, or enterprise infrastructure solutions is a plus.
