Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our dynamic procurement team and support Samdenkens' mission of operational excellence in the energy sector. This role requires a results-oriented professional with proven expertise in technical procurement, OEM vendor management, and supply chain coordination within industrial environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, strategic sourcing skills, and the ability to manage complex procurement cycles while upholding our core values of safety, innovation, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Execute end-to-end procurement processes for energy sector consumables, tools, equipment, and specialized technical products
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable OEM vendors and authorized distributors across local and international markets
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with OEM partners to ensure product authenticity, competitive pricing, and supply reliability
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify optimal sourcing opportunities for energy sector requirements
- Negotiate favorable commercial terms, payment conditions, and delivery schedules with suppliers while maintaining quality standards
- Manage vendor performance through systematic evaluation, KPI tracking, and periodic business reviews
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and industry certifications relevant to energy sector operations
Procurement Operations & Coordination
Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in accordance with company policies, client requirements, and project specificationsCoordinate procurement activities for OCTGs, line pipes, pipe fittings, wellheads, Christmas trees, valves, and instrumentation productsManage procurement of fire and safety equipment, hazardous waste incinerators, chemicals, medical and IT equipmentEnsure accurate documentation of procurement contracts, supplier agreements, delivery certificates, and compliance documentationMonitor order fulfillment, track shipment status, and coordinate timely delivery to project sites, operational facilities, or designated locationsLiaise with logistics providers to ensure efficient customs clearance, transportation, and warehousing of procured itemsSupport inventory planning and stock level optimization in collaboration with operations and project teamsAlign procurement activities with project timelines and operational requirements to ensure seamless executionCompliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, HSE policies, and company proceduresVerify authenticity of OEM products through proper documentation, certificates of conformity, and traceability recordsSupport safety-critical procurement by ensuring all equipment and materials meet stringent safety and quality standardsMaintain comprehensive procurement records including quotations, contracts, invoices, delivery documentation, and compliance certificatesCoordinate with quality assurance and HSE teams to ensure procured items meet specified technical, safety, and environmental standardsSupport technical and commercial documentation requirements for energy sector projects and client deliverablesReporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Prepare procurement status reports, spend analysis, supplier performance dashboards, and cost-saving initiativesProvide regular updates to management on procurement timelines, cost variations, supply chain risks, and mitigation strategiesTrack procurement KPIs including cost savings, delivery performance, supplier reliability metrics, and process efficiencySupport budgeting and cost estimation for procurement components of energy projects and operational activitiesIdentify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and enhanced procurement efficiencyContribute to the development and implementation of procurement SOPs and best practicesRequirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of proven procurement experience in oil & gas, energy, industrial, engineering, or technical equipment sectorsStrong understanding of OEM procurement processes, technical specifications, quality standards, and energy sector requirementsExperience in sourcing and procuring industrial equipment, tools, consumables, and specialized technical products for energy operationsDemonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate commercial terms, and drive cost optimizationProficiency in procurement documentation, contract management, compliance requirements, and regulatory standardsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levelsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously, and meet tight deadlinesStrong commitment to safety, integrity, and ethical business practicesPreferred Qualifications
Professional certification in procurement (CIPS, MCIPS, CISCM) or supply chain management (CILT)Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) or advanced procurement management softwareTechnical background or hands-on experience in oil & gas, energy, or engineering sectorsKnowledge of international trade, customs procedures, import / export regulations, and cross-border procurementExperience with OEM vendor management for specialized energy sector equipment and technical productsUnderstanding of technical specifications for OCTGs, valves, wellheads, instrumentation, fire safety equipment, or energy infrastructurePrevious experience in procurement for project-based, contract-driven, or EPC business environmentsFamiliarity with HSE standards, quality management systems (ISO 9001), and energy sector compliance requirements.Benefits
