JOB SUMMARY :
The Procurement Lead for Dangote Cement Transport is responsible for managing all procurement activities related to transportation, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of haulage services. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for transportation that enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with transport vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to align procurement with delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide reports on procurement activities and performance metrics to senior management.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and external suppliers.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the transportation or cement industry.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems, particularly SAP.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics management.High ethical standards and integrity in procurement practices.Benefits
