Our client is a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Nigeria. Due to expansion, they are in need of a Continental Sous Chef.
Location : Lagos
Job Responsibilities :
- Plan, prepare, and supervise the cooking of high-quality continental dishes
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning of all menu items.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior chefs and kitchen staff on continental cuisine preparation techniques.
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and storage to maintain compliance with hotel and regulatory standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of fresh and authentic ingredients for continental menus.
- Manage kitchen operations during service hours, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery.
- Assist in planning and executing banquet, buffet, and à la carte services focused on continental cuisine.
- Monitor stock usage, reduce waste, and optimize food cost efficiency.
- Support in the creation of seasonal or special event continental menus to enhance guest experience.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts, Catering, or related field.Minimum of 2–3 years’ culinary experience in continental cuisine,Strong knowledge of continental cooking techniques, flavors, and plating standards.
