Our client in the e-mobility and logistics industry is seeking a results-driven Business Developer to join their dynamic team. The company is dedicated to transforming last-mile delivery across Africa through sustainable, electric-powered transportation solutions that are eco-friendly, reliable, and cost-effective.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in the logistics industry, excellent networking skills, and a proven ability to identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across corporate, individual, and e-commerce clients. This role requires a proactive professional who embodies integrity, innovation, and customer-centricity while driving business growth and market expansion.
Summary of Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients within the e-mobility and logistics sector.
- Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to support strategic business decisions.
- Provide actionable insights to management for positioning and expansion strategies.
2. Lead Generation & Prospecting
Identify and qualify leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and online research.Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective corporate, individual, and e-commerce clients.Actively pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships to increase revenue.3. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Initiate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and potential clients.Conduct presentations and pitch meetings to effectively communicate company’s value proposition.Build and sustain long-term partnerships that promote client satisfaction and business retention.4. Proposal Development & Negotiation
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals that meet client needs and company objectives.Lead contract negotiations alongside the legal and finance teams to secure favorable terms.Drive the closing of deals to achieve business growth targets.5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
Work closely with operations, marketing, customer service, and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service execution.Provide client and market feedback to internal teams for product and service improvement.Support marketing and promotional initiatives to strengthen company’s market presence.6. Performance Tracking & Reporting
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business development outcomes.Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and deal pipelines using CRM tools.Provide regular progress reports and business insights to senior managementRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in any field (Business, Marketing, or related discipline preferred).3–5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.Proven track record of identifying and closing business opportunities.Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Excellent networking and relationship management abilities.Self-driven, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.Benefits
