ICT Engineering Manager

Job Title : ICT Project Engineering Manager Location : Port Harcourt Department : ICT / Engineering Reports To : Technical DirectorJob Summary : The ICT Project Engineering Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of ICT projects from inception to completion. This role involves leading a team of engineers and technical personnel, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical knowledge and project management skills, particularly within the ICT and security systems industry.Key Responsibilities : - Project Planning & Execution : - Lead the planning and execution of ICT infrastructure and security system projects. - Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budget estimates, and risk assessments. - Ensure that project objectives align with the company’s strategic goals and client expectations.- Team Leadership & Coordination : - Manage and supervise project engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. - Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure high engineering work standards. - Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.- Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management : - Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and the engineering team. - Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions effectively with stakeholders. - Maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.- Technical Oversight : - Oversee the design, integration, and deployment of ICT systems, including but not limited to : - Network and communication systems - Data centers and server infrastructure - Surveillance and access control systems - Cloud-based solutions and cybersecurity measures - Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEEE, NCC, NITDA guidelines).- Budgeting & Cost Control : - Prepare and manage project budgets. - Monitor expenditures and ensure financial efficiency and cost control. - Evaluate vendor proposals and participate in procurement decisions.- Risk Management & Compliance : - Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. - Ensure all projects comply with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. - Maintain project documentation and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.Qualifications : - B.Sc. / B.Eng in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Cisco, Microsoft, ITIL, Auto Cad) are a plus.- Minimum of 10 years experience in ICT or systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a project management role.- Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, networking, and enterprise-level technologies.- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).Key Skill- Leadership and team management- Project planning and control- Technical expertise in ICT systems- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities- Financial and risk management- Decision-making and strategic thinkingWorking Conditions : - Office-based with frequent site visits- Occasional travel to client sites or project locations- May require extended hours during peak project phasesBenefits : - Competitive salary and performance incentives- Health insurance- Training and career development opportunities- Exposure to cutting-edge ICT projects
