Key Requirements
HND / B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 2 or 3 years of hands-on experience in utility maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
In-depth technical knowledge of utility equipment, including : Boilers, Air compressors, Cooling towers, Water and wastewater treatment systems, Power distribution systems, Firefighting and safety systems
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience in managing contractors and leading technical teams.
Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Proficient in recordkeeping, maintenance documentation, and basic computer applications.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance activities for all utility equipment (boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, etc.).
Monitor utility systems to ensure continuous and efficient supply of power, steam, water, and air to production processes.
Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Supervise external contractors performing utility-related work and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections and condition monitoring of utility machines to identify potential failures before they occur.
Recommend and implement process or equipment modifications to improve performance and reduce downtime.
Manage spare parts inventory, ensure availability of critical components, and control maintenance costs.
Train and mentor utility technicians; identify training needs and coordinate relevant technical development programs.
Report equipment performance and utility system status to the Engineering Supervisor / Manager.
