Mechanical Technician

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking to hire a Mechanical Technician

Key Requirements :

HND / B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 2 -3 years hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or process industry.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in utilities, production, and process plants.

Proven ability to handle mechanical breakdowns independently and effectively during shifts.

Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&ID diagrams, and mechanical schematics.

Practical experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform routine preventive, corrective, and planned mechanical maintenance of all production and utility equipment during assigned shifts.

Quickly troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns to minimize production downtime and ensure smooth operations.

Maintain accurate shift logs, reporting all breakdowns, repairs, and equipment conditions to supervisors.

Assist in implementing maintenance routines and improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Collaborate with production operators to provide immediate technical support during machine issues.

Monitor mechanical systems, report spare part needs, and ensure timely requisition to avoid operational delays.

Interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and P&ID diagrams to guide maintenance and repairs.

Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety standards and operational procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce wastage and optimize utility usage (power, steam, air, water).

Recommend and support training for operators on basic mechanical troubleshooting to reduce avoidable downtimes.
