Job Description
1. Collect and maintain accurate cost information relating to materials, labor, and overheads.
2. Record production and consumption data into the cost system or ERP.
3. Track variances between actual and standard costs and report significant deviations.
4. Assist in maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing data.
5. Prepare cost sheets, variance analysis, and cost comparison reports.
6. Support monthly cost closing and reconciliation with financial accounts.
7. Assist the Cost Accountant in preparing management cost reports.
8. Provide analysis to support decision-making on pricing, budgets, and process improvement.
9. Monitor inventory movements, consumption, and valuation.
10. Reconcile production and material balances with stores and production records.
11. Participate in periodic stock counts and ensure timely reconciliation of variances.
12. Assist in identifying and reporting obsolete or slow-moving stock.
13. Support the budgeting process by providing cost input and analysis.
14. Compare actual expenses against budgets and report variances.
15. Assist in updating cost standards and cost allocation bases.
16. Ensure adherence to cost accounting procedures and company policies.
17. Maintain accurate documentation and audit trail of cost transactions.
18. Support both internal and external audit exercises.
19. Promote cost consciousness across departments.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Professional Certification : Student member or part-qualified ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an advantage.
Experience : Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in cost or management accounting, preferably in manufacturing or trading environment.
