The Head of Operations will oversee the strategic and operational functions of the department, ensuring seamless execution of programs, process optimization, and alignment with organizational objectives. The role requires a seasoned operations professional who can translate strategy into action through efficient systems, data-driven decision-making, and strong team leadership.
The ideal candidate will lead planning, logistics, resource management, and performance tracking across all projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, financial discipline, and operational excellence that supports the ministry’s growth and impact goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Goal Achievement
Lead the implementation of key operational goals and strategic priorities.
Translate leadership vision into actionable operational plans, KPIs, and measurable outcomes.
Continuously evaluate processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
Provide operational insights and recommendations to support data-driven strategic decisions.
2. Project Management & Execution
Oversee all projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with defined objectives.
Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and manage cross-functional coordination.
Implement project management tools and frameworks to streamline workflows and enhance accountability.
3. Budgeting, Financial Oversight & Resource Management
Prepare and manage annual operational budgets for initiatives.
Monitor financial performance, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
Provide periodic financial and operational performance reports to leadership.
Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and standards.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
Design and maintain systems for data tracking, performance analytics, and operational reporting.
Use data to drive decisions, optimize programs, and measure impact.
Present periodic dashboards and reports on key performance metrics to leadership.
5. Leadership, Team Engagement & Performance Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate the department’s operations team to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
Manage staffing, onboarding, and training to ensure capability alignment with organizational needs.
Implement performance management systems that reinforce accountability and continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
6. Workflow & Supply Chain Optimization
Evaluate and improve operational processes and supply chains for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure smooth coordination across departments for logistics, procurement, and resource distribution.
Maintain high standards of operational excellence and service delivery.
7. Stakeholder & Communication Management
Serve as a key liaison between department leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels to ensure alignment and transparency.
Support leadership in representing department’s operations in internal and external engagements.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
7–10 years of progressive experience in operations, retail, FMCG, logistics, or large-scale organizational management.
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and multi-site operations.
Strong proficiency in data analytics, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
Familiarity with digital platforms, workflow automation, and operational technology.
