About Company: Our client is one of the fast-growing grocery retail chain in Nigeria.

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance and Administration Manager to oversee the finance and administrative operations of the region. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective store accounting, compliance with accounting and tax requirements, efficient administration, and optimal productivity across the relevant departments

Job Objective:

The Finance and Administration Manager will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring proper store accounting and payment processes, managing payroll administration, supporting tax and audit requirements, overseeing inventory data reliability, and ensuring the effective administration and IT

infrastructure of the region.

The role is also expected to drive cost efficiency and productivity while applying the principle of economy across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and provide the region’s monthly Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
  
• Organize and manage an efficient accounting function, particularly for all store-related accounting procedures.
  
• Ensure accurate and proper store accounting across the region.
  
• Manage payment and banking procedures.
  
• Determine the appropriate frequency of cash pickups from each store.
  
• Oversee the administration of payroll matters, including standard contracts, statutory/legal requirements, and salary payments.
  
• Provide relevant financial and administrative information to the company’s tax and accounting advisers and external auditors.
  
• Review unusual inventory results from stores and ensure the accuracy and reliability of inventory data.
  
• Ensure the availability and effective operation of the required IT infrastructure across the region, particularly for stores.
  
• Maintain custody and proper management of store keys.
  
• Manage the purchase of company vehicles in line with the company’s vehicle policies and regulations.
  
• Determine staff salaries within the assigned departments in accordance with the company’s salary policy.
  
• Provide reports, statistics, and financial information required to support the effective management and continuous improvement of regional operations.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and labour-law requirements.
  
• Drive cost efficiency and maximize productivity across the relevant departments.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining the highest possible level of productivity.
  
• Participate in Finance and Administration Managers Meetings (FAMM) and contribute to relevant regional and company-wide initiatives.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, administration, or a similar managerial role.
  
• Strong experience in financial reporting, including preparation and review of Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
  
• Strong understanding of accounting procedures, store accounting, banking, payments, payroll, and financial controls.
  
• Good knowledge of tax, accounting, and labour-law compliance.
  
• Experience working with auditors and external tax/accounting advisers.
  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports, statistics, inventory results, and operational data.
  
• Netsuite/Retail Pro (software) experience will be an added advantage
  
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple functions and stakeholders.
  
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
  
• Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to manage costs and improve productivity.
  
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure and systems supporting business/store operations.
  
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Compensation: Pay ranges BTW 1.9m – 2.5m monthly + official car and other interesting benefits
