Job Title - HR & Admin Manager
Location - Ikoyi, Lagos
Our client is a major West African company that specializes in large-scale building and construction projects, with a particular focus on mechanical and electrical systems across the continent.
They are seeking a seasoned HR & Admin Manager to lead the people operations and administrative functions. This role is designed for a strategic yet hands-on professional who thrives in the fast-paced environment of the construction industry and possesses a "boots-on-the-ground" approach to labor relations. You will be responsible for harmonizing a diverse workforce and ensuring the administrative backbone is as solid as the company's engineering projects.
The ideal candidate must be a firm but fair negotiator with deep experience in the Nigerian construction landscape and an understanding of the technical demands of M&E projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for unions; lead collective bargaining, grievance handling, and proactive conflict resolution to maintain uninterrupted site operations.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment for technical M&E and site-based roles, performance management, and career development.
- Manage office facilities, procurement of office supplies, and the company’s fleet (including maintenance and driver management).
- Ensure all HR and administrative activities strictly adhere to Nigerian Labor Laws and industry-specific safety / engineering regulations.
- Provide high-level HR metrics and administrative cost reports to senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Professional certifications like CIPM or PHRi are a significant plus).Minimum of 8 years of HR experience specifically within the construction or related heavy-industry field.At least 5 years of proven experience maintaining industrial harmony within a unionized environment.A proven track record of managing both HR and Administrative departments in a multinational or regional setting.Exceptional negotiation skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex logistics across multiple project sites.Benefits
