Job Role :
INTERNAL AUDITOR / COMPLIANCE OFFICER (MICROFINANCE BANK EXPERIENCE)

Responsibilities :
- . Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit policies, procedures, and methodologies aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- . Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments of all operational areas to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
- . Monitor compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and internal policies.
- . Review and verify the integrity of financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
- . Investigate control breaches, operational irregularities, and suspected fraud cases, liaising with law enforcement agencies as necessary.
- . Conduct spot checks and surprise audits on transaction activities and operational processes.
- . Prepare timely, accurate, and objective audit and compliance reports for management, the Board Audit Committee, and regulatory bodies.
- . Advise management on risk management, control improvements, and compliance enhancements.
- . Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning exercises.
- . Ensure all audit queries and compliance issues are promptly investigated and resolved.
- . Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- . Serve on committees or cross-functional teams as assigned by the Managing Director or Board.
Requirements :
. Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or related field.. Experience : 3-5 years experiences as an Internal Auditor / Compliance Officer with Microfinance Bank. Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Institute of CharteredAccountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are advantageous.
Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software tools.
