Overview
Fabcom Structural LTD is seeking a highly capable and experienced Sales Director to lead our roofing and structural product lines (including stone-coated roofing, zinc sheets, solar roofing, long span steel etc.) in Lagos and Ogun. As a brand with recent additions (e.g., SolarStone, stone-coated roof tiles), you will be instrumental in building market share, guiding the sales team, and establishing strong relationships with contractors, developers, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
− Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Lagos & Ogun that aligns with Fabcom Structural objectives (growth, profitability, market leadership).
− Forecast sales targets, set budgets, monitor performance, and adjust strategy as needed.
− Team Leadership & Development
− Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team (both inside and field sales) to meet sales targets, ensuring high levels of motivation and performance.
− Recruit new sales talent as needed. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance reviews.
− Build and maintain strong relationships with large construction companies, government departments, architects, contractors, developers, dealers, and distributors.
− Identify new business opportunities and channels for expansion within Lagos, Ogun, and potentially neighboring states.
− Understand and articulate the features, quality, durability, and value propositions of all roofing and structural products (stone-coated roofing tiles, solar roofing sheets, zinc roofing, etc.).
− Work closely with product development / engineering to provide feedback from the field; help shape product features, pricing, and value messaging based on customer needs.
− Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer behavior. Stay informed about local climate impacts, standards, regulations affecting roofing and construction materials.
− Use insights to position Fabcom’s offerings effectively, differentiate in terms of durability, quality, cost over time, warranty, and aesthetic appeal.
− Set sales targets (monthly, quarterly, annual), define KPIs (e.g. revenue, market share, inquiry conversion rate, customer acquisition cost).
− Provide regular reports and analyses to senior management. Review performance and make recommendations for improvement.
− Work closely with Marketing & Communications to ensure sales messaging, collateral, and product launch campaigns are well supported.
− Ensure customer feedback loops are captured (maintenance issues, durability concerns, aesthetics, etc.).
− Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. Master’s (MBA) is a plus.
− Minimum 5 years of proven sales leadership experience, preferably in the building materials / roofing / steel / construction products sector.
− Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets and driving growth in competitive markets.
− Experience managing sizeable teams (preferably 5-15 sales personnel or more), including field and inside sales.
− Strong network in the construction industry in Lagos, Ogun, and / or other major regions : contractors, developers, government procurement.
− Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
− Analytical mindset : ability to interpret sales data, market intelligence, and adapt strategy accordingly.
− Willingness to travel locally as required (site visits, client meetings, distribution partners).
