Role: School Administrator

Overview
Our client is a Secondary/Primary School that offers both the British and Nigerian curricula. On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and hands-on School Administrator to oversee the school's daily administrative and operational activities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-managed learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's non-academic operations, including facilities management, maintenance, transport, security, housekeeping, catering, and other support services. The role requires a strong leader who can effectively supervise operational teams, implement efficient systems and processes, and ensure that all support functions operate seamlessly to enable the delivery of quality education.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple operational priorities while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the school.
- Ensure all operational services are delivered efficiently to support uninterrupted school activities.
- Develop and implement administrative procedures that improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor daily operations and promptly resolve operational issues.
Facilities, Transport & Support Services
- Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, classrooms, equipment, and other facilities.
- Oversee the operations of school transport services, ensuring buses are properly maintained and drivers comply with safety standards.
- Coordinate housekeeping, cleaning, landscaping, and waste management services to maintain a clean and conducive environment.
- Supervise kitchen and catering operations to ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and service delivery.
- Oversee security personnel and ensure effective implementation of safety and access control procedures.
Staff Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of all non-academic staff, including cleaners, maintenance personnel, drivers, kitchen staff, security officers, and other support teams.
- Ensure staff clearly understand their responsibilities, performance expectations, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate orientation, training, coaching, and continuous development programmes for operational staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and excellent service delivery.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments across school facilities.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, safety drills, and incident reporting.
- Ensure vendors and contractors comply with school policies and safety standards.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Coordinate procurement of operational supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers.
- Monitor service contracts and ensure vendors meet agreed service levels.
- Support budget management through effective cost control and resource utilization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Facilities Management, Estate Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Facilities Management, Health & Safety, or Operations Management are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5–8 years' experience managing operations, administration, facilities, or support services within a school, hospitality, healthcare, corporate, or other service-oriented environment.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, vendor management, transport operations, and facilities maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and administrative management systems.
