Ready to Lead Field Operations and Drive Cementing Service Excellence in Oil & Gas?

We're partnering with a leading oil & gas company seeking a Senior Supervisor to lead cementing field crews, oversee job execution, and ensure operational excellence across drilling and well construction activities in Port Harcourt. If you have strong expertise in field operations management, crew leadership, and cementing service delivery, this is your opportunity to drive safety, quality, and efficiency in critical operations.

What You'll Do

Field Operations Leadership

Lead and supervise cementing field crews during primary cementing, squeeze jobs, and plug operations
Ensure safe execution of all cementing operations in compliance with HSE standards and procedures
Coordinate equipment mobilization, rig-up, testing, and demobilization activities
Monitor job execution in real-time and make critical operational decisions
Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and crew briefings
Manage multiple concurrent jobs across different locations and rig sites

Technical Supervision & Quality Control

Oversee proper implementation of cementing programs and engineering designs

Verify equipment functionality, calibration, and readiness before operations

Monitor mixing parameters, pump rates, pressures, and volumes during job execution

Ensure cement quality through proper mixing, testing, and placement procedures

Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions immediately

Validate post-job reports and ensure accuracy of operational data

Crew Management & Development

Supervise, mentor, and develop field technicians and junior personnel

Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback

Ensure crew competency through training and skills development initiatives

Manage crew scheduling, rotation, and resource allocation

Foster teamwork, accountability, and operational discipline

Address personnel issues and maintain positive crew morale

Equipment & Resource Management

Oversee maintenance, inspection, and serviceability of cementing equipment

Ensure adequate inventory of materials, chemicals, and spare parts

Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment repairs and upgrades

Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime

Track equipment utilization and identify optimization opportunities

Manage logistics for equipment and materials to field locations

HSE & Compliance

Champion safety culture and ensure zero-harm operations

Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures for field activities

Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances with corrective actions

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, API standards, and company policies

Participate in HSE audits, inspections, and management reviews

Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and operational standards

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

Interface with drilling teams, rig management, and client representatives

Collaborate with cementing engineers on job planning and execution strategy

Provide operational feedback to engineering teams for design optimization

Participate in pre-job and post-job technical review meetings

Communicate job status, issues, and performance to management

Build strong working relationships with clients and service partners

Requirements

Who You Are

National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or related technical field

Minimum 7+ years' experience in cementing operations, with at least 3 years in supervisory roles in oil & gas

Extensive hands-on experience with primary cementing, squeeze cementing, and plug operations

Strong knowledge of cementing equipment, hydraulics, and field procedures

Proven track record in field operations leadership and crew management
