CONTEXT
MdM is active in North-East Nigeria since 2016 and opened a base in the North West in 2024. The program is implemented around the main following components :
Access to primary health care (direct implementation and support to public services)Gender based violence survivors’ treatmentMental health and psychological supportMdM has its coordination office in Abuja and 3 bases in Maiduguri, Damboa and Katsina. The team is composed of around 10 expatriates and 200 national staffs.
In the North East, MdM is transiting from direct implementation to health system strenghtening, running directly 2 clinics in Damboa and supporting 4 MoH clinics (2 in Maiduguri and 2 in Damboa). In the North West, a program has been implemented during the second semester of 2024, including a mobile clinic at Niger’s border and support to the MoH structures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Africa desk manager, you are responsible for the overall management of the Nigeria mission.
Your main responsibilities are the following :
Recruit, manage, train and motivate the mission’s teamDefine the operational and advocacy strategy together with the coordination team, the desk manager and the volunteer board delegates of the missionPlan and monitor activities, implement corrective action when necessary, providing technical support to the teamRepresent MdM with authorities, local actors, partners, donors and the mediaMonitor partnership agreements with partners, authorities and donors, seek out and develop new partnerships, and ensure or supervise fundraisingEnsure the financial coverage of the mission by leading fundraising and budget managementDraft, adapt and monitor safety regulations and procedures and coordinate crisis management in the regionImplement and monitor the application of MdM’s programmatic and support services framework, policies and proceduresSupervise reporting to MdM and donorsRequired profile
