IT / Facility Support Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically competent IT / Facility Support Officer to provide first-line IT support while ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the organization's facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting end-users, maintaining IT infrastructure, coordinating facility maintenance activities, and ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient working environment.

The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage both technology and facility-related operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, printers, and network-related issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Manage user accounts, email setup, and access permissions.
• Monitor and maintain network connectivity, internet services, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Perform routine system updates, backups, antivirus management, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
• Escalate complex technical issues to external vendors or senior IT personnel where necessary.

Facility Management

• Coordinate routine maintenance of office and healthcare facilities.
• Monitor the functionality of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and other building systems.
• Liaise with vendors and service providers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure office equipment and facilities remain operational at all times.
• Monitor cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of the premises.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Support compliance with health, safety, and facility management standards.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Assist in implementing workplace safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance schedules and vendor activities.

Administrative Support

• Maintain records of IT assets, maintenance activities, and service requests.
• Prepare periodic reports on IT performance and facility maintenance.
• Support office setup, relocations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, CCNA, or related certifications are an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in IT Support, Facilities Management, or a similar role.
• Experience working within a healthcare or corporate environment is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems, networking, and office infrastructure.
