Position : QA / Software TesterIndustry : Technology SolutionsLocation : Lagos, NigeriaJob Type : Full-TimeJob Description (Summary)The QA / Software Tester will be responsible for executing and managing the testing of software applications, ensuring high-quality performance and functionality. This role involves test planning, execution, automation, and continuous improvement of testing processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various testing methodologies, automated testing, and excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.Test PlanningAnalyze project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to understand the scope of testing.Develop and document detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Identify testing objectives, strategies, and timelines for various projects.Test ExecutionConduct functional, regression, integration, performance, and usability testing on software applications.Execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality and performance.Report and document bugs and defects using issue-tracking tools like JIRA or Trello.Retest resolved defects and verify fixes.Automation TestingDesign and maintain automated test scripts using relevant tools.Ensure automated test coverage for core functionalities and repetitive tasks.Collaborate with developers to integrate automated testing into CI / CD pipelines.CollaborationWork closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and expected behavior.Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.Provide feedback on usability, user interface design, and functionality improvements.DocumentationPrepare and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test results, test coverage reports, and release notes.Contribute to the creation of user manuals and troubleshooting guides.Continuous ImprovementIdentify areas for improving testing processes and tools.Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and trends.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Tester or Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer.Experience in both manual and automated testing.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects in software applications.
