Our client, a reputable plastics manufacturing company specializing in PVC footwear, is looking to hire an experienced Accountant to oversee all financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support business decision-making with accurate reporting and insights. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of accounting within the manufacturing sector.
Job Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, implementing sound financial procedures, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and tax regulations. They must have strong experience in manufacturing accounting, cost control, and financial analysis, particularly in the plastics or footwear sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company’s financial records and general ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor cost structures, perform variance analysis, and advise on cost-saving opportunities
- Oversee inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and prepare tax filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
- Coordinate and liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Support management with financial analysis and business insights
- Use accounting software and ERP systems efficiently for transaction recording and reporting
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field7–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing (plastics or footwear is a strong advantage)Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferredSolid knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and cost accountingProficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsBenefits
