Job Objective : To lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, ensuring alignment with global best
practices, regulatory requirements, and the company’s mission and values. The ESG Officer will
drive sustainability initiatives, promote sound governance, and enhance the organization’s social
impact while fostering stakeholder trust and long-term value creation.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
§ Design and execute a comprehensive ESG strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals
and global sustainability standards.
§ Establish ESG performance metrics and KPIs, monitor outcomes, and recommend
improvements.
§ Act as the primary point of contact for ESG-related matters with internal and external
stakeholders, including investors, regulators, employees, and communities.
§ Prepare and publish ESG reports, sustainability disclosures, and impact assessments to
demonstrate the organization’s commitment to ESG principles.
§ Oversee initiatives to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint, waste, and energy
consumption.
§ Ensure the organization upholds fair labour practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in
its workforce.
§ Strengthen corporate governance practices by promoting transparency, accountability, and
ethical decision-making.
§ Embed ESG awareness and accountability into corporate culture and decision-making
processes.
Job Requirements
§ B.Sc. in Social Science, Arts, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum of 2 : 2); A
professional certification is an added advantage.
§ 5-7 years of professional work experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social
responsibility (CSR), or related fields.
§ Demonstrated experience in designing and executing ESG programmes.
§ Sound knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and global standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD,
SASB, UN SDGs).
§ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites Office and ESG reporting platforms.
