Job descriptionEducation : Technical Certificate, OND, or equivalent in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering. Experience : Minimum of 3–5 years experience repairing and maintaining diesel trucks in a logistics or haulage environment. Skills : Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems (engine, transmission, braking, hydraulics). Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Excellent problem-solving and time management skills. Good teamwork and communication abilities. License : Valid driver’s license (Commercial driver’s license is an added advantage). Ability to lift and handle heavy parts and equipment. Comfortable working under vehicles and in outdoor conditions when required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct regular inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance on trucks.
- Diagnose and repair faults in engines, gearboxes, brakes, electrical systems, and suspensions.
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, brake lining adjustments, and tire changes.
- Troubleshoot and fix issues related to diesel engines, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for each vehicle in the fleet.
- Ensure all repairs comply with company safety standards and transport regulations.
- Inspect newly repaired vehicles to confirm proper functioning before release.
