This role is crucial to the success of a significant international euro-based project in Lagos State.

Functional Responsibilities
Design and Planning
- Site Assessments : Conduct site visits and surveys to evaluate existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather data for design purposes.
- Traffic Analysis : Analyze traffic patterns and volumes to inform pavement design and ensure capacity meets current and future demand.
Project Management
Project Planning : Create project plans, timelines, and budgets for pavement construction and maintenance projects.Coordination : Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate designs with surrounding infrastructure and land use.Contract Management : Prepare and manage contracts for construction work, including specifications, terms, and performance standards.Construction Oversight
Construction Supervision : Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety regulations.Quality Control : Implement quality assurance processes to verify that materials and artistry meet established standards and specifications.Problem Solving : Address and resolve any construction-related issues during the project, ensuring minimal disruption to progress.Maintenance and Rehabilitation
Pavement Maintenance Planning : Develop maintenance schedules and strategies for existing pavements to ensure longevity and performance.Condition Assessment : Conduct regular inspections and assessments of pavement conditions, identifying areas requiring repair or rehabilitation.Rehabilitation Design : Design and oversee rehabilitation projects for existing pavements, ensuring upgrades meet current engineering standards.Environmental Considerations
Environmental Impact Assessments : Conduct assessments to evaluate projects' environmental impacts and develop strategies to mitigate adverse effects.Sustainability Practices : Incorporate sustainable pavement design and construction practices, including environmentally friendly materials and techniquesRegulatory Compliance
Adherence to Standards : Ensure that all designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.Permitting : Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities before commencing construction projects.Stakeholder Engagement

Cost Estimation : Prepare accurate cost estimates for pavement construction and maintenance projects, considering materials, labour, and equipment.Budget Monitoring : Track project expenditures and ensure that projects remain within budget, reporting any variances to management.Technical Reporting

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any relevant field.Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field.Minimum of 10 years experience in road and drainage design using AutoCAD and general engineering design standardsPart modelling and detailing experience using ProE Creo Parametric software (desired).Experience using AutoCAD 2D design software (required)Experience in project managementMust have design and project supervision experience in Structures.Functional Competencies
