Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, driving loan and investment product sales, building strategic relationships, and leading the business development team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial services, a solid client network, and the ability to convert prospects into long-term clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the company’s loan and investment portfolio
Identify, source, and onboard new clients for loan and investment products
Build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients
Lead, supervise, and motivate business development officers and marketers
Set sales targets and monitor team performance against KPIs
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and emerging trends
Prepare and present business proposals, reports, and forecasts to management
Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure seamless client onboarding
Represent the company at networking events, meetings, and industry forums
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within a loan, microfinance, fintech, or investment company
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong understanding of loan products, credit processes, and investment services
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Ability to build and manage a high-performing sales team
Strong analytical and reporting skills
