Job Description
Role : Assistant Zonal Manager | Work Mode : Hybrid
We’re looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional to act as the right hand of the Zonal Manager, ensuring smooth execution of daily operations, people support, and performance reporting. The Assistant Zonal Manager is the second-in-command of the zone, stepping in for the Zonal Manager when needed, managing sub-teams, and owning specific projects or initiatives. The role is fast-paced, demanding, and will often require long hours. This role is perfect for someone with strong consulting, problem-solving, and execution skills who thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments. It’s both a leadership and a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to learn from seasoned operators while preparing for future leadership positions.
Responsibilities :
Support the rollout of company-wide initiatives in your zone, adapting them to local realities.
Collect feedback from vendors, riders, and customers to refine execution strategies.
Identify new growth opportunities, including vendor acquisition and customer retention.
Assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring service quality and smooth delivery execution.
Track and report operational KPIs, including orders, delivery times, CSAT, and vendor activity.
Flag bottlenecks or risks early and propose proactive solutions.
Supervise sub-teams (e.g., Operations and Sales Associate) to ensure alignment and productivity.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of agents and rider coordinators.
Act as the first point of escalation for operational or people issues before they reach the Zonal Manager.
Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, highlighting key trends, insights, and recommendations.
Monitor compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Take ownership of special projects or mini-initiatives such as driving growth in a new city.
Step into leadership when the Zonal Manager is unavailable, ensuring continuity in performance and decision-making.
Requirements
Good background in operations,process optimization strategy implementation
and execution as he / she would expected to be involved in implementing
business strategies and achieving operational target
Data-driven and strong with operational performance and
financial reporting
Minimum of 2–3 years + of relevant experience, ideally within a Big Four
consulting, startup, or marketplace environment.
A background in STEM or MBA would be preferred
Added advantage : Candidates could also have prior exposure to Series A or later
startup environments
Benefits
Monthly Remuneration : N700,000 - N1.2M NET plus other benefits
