Job description
SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking an experienced HVAC Deputy Supervisor to join its workforce on the ERHA Offshore Project in Lagos, Nigeria . The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in maintenance operations within offshore oil and gas installations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY :
Operational & Technical Responsibilities
- Assist the HVAC Supervisor in overseeing all HVAC maintenance activities on offshore installations.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC systems, including :
Chillers
Air Handling Units (AHUs)Ventilation and exhaust systemsSplit and packaged unitsPressurization and fire / gas dampersDiagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system faults to minimize downtime.Ensure HVAC systems operate in accordance with OEM specifications and offshore operational requirements.Monitor system performance and recommend improvements or corrective actions where necessary.Supervision & Team Support
Supervise and guide HVAC technicians during routine and non-routine maintenance activities.Allocate daily work tasks and ensure proper execution in line with work permits and job safety analyses (JSA).Act as the Supervisor's delegate during absences or shift rotations.Support on-the-job training and mentoring of junior technicians.Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, offshore safety regulations, and SPIE procedures.Participate actively in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments.Ensure all HVAC activities are carried out under valid permits to work (PTW).Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and logs using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems.Support audits, inspections, and client verifications related to HVAC systems.Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with other disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Operations) to ensure integrated maintenance planning.Report daily activities, system status, and outstanding issues to the HVAC Supervisor.Escalate critical faults or safety concerns promptly.Profile
Has to be fully up to date with all legislation and requirements surrounding offshore HVAC systems with experience in fault finding with aging and obsolete equipment.
