Job descriptionThe Site Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial and accounting activities at project sites. The role ensures proper cost tracking, budget control, accurate financial reporting, and compliance with company policies across construction operations. Maintain proper records of site expenses, petty cash, and imprest accounts Track daily site costs including materials, labor, logistics, and vendors Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site financial reports Reconcile site expenses with head office accounts. Process and track payments to suppliers, vendors, and site workers Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions (invoices, waybills, receipts) Verify quantities and costs of materials received on-site. Monitor site budgets and flag cost overruns or irregularities Assist in cost analysis and cost-saving recommendations Support site management in financial planning and control. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company financial procedures Support internal and external audits when required Prepare reports for management review and decision-making. OND / HND / BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. 23 years' experience as a Site Accountant or Accounts Officer in a construction environment Hands-on experience working on active project sites is mandatory Skills & Competencies : Strong understanding of site accounting and construction cost structures Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting tools Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently on-site Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills. High integrity and accountability Willingness to work on-site and across multiple project locations Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Proactive and detail-oriented.
