Overview
This position demands a high level of regional strategic insight and the ability to function both autonomously and within the KSSA team in order to realize the growth aspirations of the company. This is a management role in Kemin’s Sub Saharan Africa Business Unit tasked with successfully leading and managing the West African regional sales team. The key responsibilities include helping to formulate and implement the regional sales strategy and execution thereof. You will provide direction, leadership and guidance to achieve sales growth in line with budget expectations whilst also developing a cohesive, professional and service orientated sales team.
Responsibilities
- Manage Kemin’s sales growth strategies for West African markets.
- Lead and develop the regional sales team and position the region to deliver real value and growth in the fast expanding but competitive market.
- Ensure strong customer retention strategies by defending current market share through ongoing relationship building with key customers and their key decision makers.
- Build robust territory plans with account managers and ensure productive resource allocation through capacity analysis to better serve customers.
- Execute strategic marketing plans for respective business platforms and drive relative product growth through effective transfer of insights to market.
- Provide direction and technical assistance to members of the sales team.
- Plan, develop and implement consolidated regional sales plan in line with Kemin’s strategy and business objectives.
- Evaluate proposed sales action plans by the Account Managers for new opportunities, ensuring Kemin can profitably enter the market and bring value to customers.
- Manage the sales processes through the customer service department to ensure seamless service delivery to our customers.
- Coordinate technical support to customers appropriate to their needs.
- Manage the introduction of new concepts, ideas, and products to selected customers that will bring value to their business, increase Kemin’s sales and position the Kemin brand more prominently in the market.
- Set up Key KPI’s for the sales team to track and trace performance and apply co a ching techniques.
- Develop and formulate key account Plans and ensure alignment with Sales and Marketing to execute plans.
- Report business progress relative to plans and formulate new strategies that can drive growth.
Qualifications
A BSc. degree or relevant qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science or equivalentCommercial qualifications will be an added advantage.At least 6 years’ experience in the Animal Health and Nutrition Industry with a large part in sales leadership positions.Essential skills :
A high degree of personal motivation, sense of urgency and desire to make an immediate contribution.Strong coaching, employee development and leadership skills.An energetic and experienced team leader.Experience in sales within the Animal Nutrition and Health industries.High level working knowledge of the industry.Proven ability to manage people.A good and open communicator and able to present to highly technical and none technical audiences.Hands-on with excellent organizational skills.Good oral and written skills in English and French.Computer literate.Language Skills :
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.Fluency in English and French is preferred.Superior presentation and communication skills.Physical Demands :
