The Technical / Electrical Maintenance personnel is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day needs and long-term planning by ensuring that high-performance maintenance services are provided within the plant to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
They will be responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department, including managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. They will also be responsible to ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods, run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance (TPM), Driving Reliability Roadmap by managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical equipment as well as people management and budgetary / cost reporting through effective use of ERP systems (SAP).
Key Responsibilities :
The role encompasses various elements related to the upkeep, maintenance and improvement of all manufacturing assets used in the production process of cosmetics and household products, along with people management and general management responsibilities.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.Lead the execution of the Reliability RoadmapEnsure the Maintenance Performance Dashboard is developed and monitoredPlan the resources based on a clear reading of performance and in anticipation of major maintenance activitiesDevelop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in ïmissed' maintenance activities, and manage critical spares list in line with budgetary requirements and replacement schedulesPrepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts for all Spares Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance.Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditureManage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy through routine monthly cycle count of all maintenance inventoriesUndertake continuous training and development of self as well as teamProvide technical expertise to the team through consultation with Group best practiceStay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the reliability of the plant through technological developments and prevent system redundancyManage, coach and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvementsBe an effective communicator, able to clearly communicate technical issuesFinancial acumen to understand, evaluate and manage budget information and costsDemonstrate leadership to effectively manage the maintenance team structure and hold teammates accountable towards achieving a high standard of workmanshipPreferred competencies :
Minimum of HND, or BSc in Mechanical, Electrical Production Engineering, or related technical discipline.4-5 years supervisory experience in cosmetics / household production or manufacturing environment.Good understanding of preventive maintenance and machine troubleshooting.Extensive plant level experience with proven management experienceTechnical capability and understandingExtensive knowledge of TPM / EEM / PM systems for Professional MaintenanceExperience of managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenanceEngineering Degree in Either Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringProven work experience as a Maintenance or Engineering supervisor or in a continuous manufacturing environmentAdept at CMMS systems such as SAP or suitable alternativeUnderstand machine safety regulationsBe willing to support maintenance activities after hours, weekends and during holidays, in line with defined callout and afterhours support proceduresBe willing to build and develop a network of credible maintenance and technical suppliers to ensure ongoing support to improve overall plant reliabilityMust be a team player, willing to coach, mentor and develop their team
