The Consumer Lending Management Trainee Program is designed to develop high-potential graduates into future leaders in retail and consumer lending. Trainees will gain hands-on experience across key lending functions including loan origination, credit analysis, risk management, collections, sales, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lending & Credit Operations
Support the end-to-end consumer loan process : sourcing, appraisal, approval, disbursement, and monitoringAssist in evaluating customer creditworthiness using income analysis, credit bureau reports, and risk scoring toolsPrepare and review loan documentation in line with internal policies and regulatory requirementsSales & Relationship Management
Support consumer loan sales initiatives across products such as personal loans, salary loans, auto loans, and digital lending productsEngage customers to understand financing needs and recommend appropriate lending solutionsBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersRisk & Compliance
Ensure adherence to credit policies, lending limits, and regulatory guidelinesAssist in monitoring portfolio performance, delinquency trends, and early warning signalsSupport loan recovery and collections activities where requiredData, Reporting & Analysis
Analyze loan performance data and prepare management reportsTrack key lending KPIs including approval rates, portfolio growth, and non-performing loansSupport process improvement initiatives through data-driven insightsLearning & Development
Participate in structured classroom training, on-the-job learning, and mentorship programsComplete periodic assessments and project assignmentsRotate across consumer lending units and branches as assignedKey Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking, or related fieldsMinimum of Second Class Upper (or equivalent)Experience
02 years of work experience (NYSC completed or in progress)Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical skillsGood understanding of basic financial conceptsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh ethical standards and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysisWillingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
