Job Objective / Summary

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) provides strategic leadership for the bank’s technology vision,

ensuring the secure, innovative, and scalable use of IT to drive digital transformation, operational

efficiency, and customer-centric financial services. The CTO leads technology modernization,

strengthens cybersecurity resilience, and fosters continuous innovation to maintain competitive

advantage and regulatory compliance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technology Strategy & Leadership

 Define and execute the bank’s enterprise-wide technology strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.

 Lead the digital transformation roadmap, leveraging AI, blockchain, cloud computing, and automation.

2. Technology Operations & Infrastructure

 Oversee IT infrastructure, core banking systems, enterprise applications, and digital banking platforms.

 Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of all mission-critical systems.

3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management

 Strengthen cybersecurity posture, data privacy, and IT risk management in compliance with regulatory frameworks.

 Ensure continuous monitoring, threat detection, and incident response to minimize vulnerabilities.

Innovation & Digital Banking

 Drive fintech innovation, development of digital products, and customer experience enhancements.

 Identify emerging technologies to create new revenue streams and operational efficiencies.

4. Financial & Vendor Management

 Manage IT budgets, optimize costs, and ensure positive ROI on technology investments.

 Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management.

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

 Partner with executive management to integrate technology into banking products and services.

 Act as a trusted advisor on digital strategy and innovation.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

i. Timely implementation of digital banking solutions and upgrades.

ii. Reduced system downtime and increased operational efficiency.

iii. Compliance with cybersecurity standards and minimized security breaches.

iv. Growth in adoption and usage of new digital services by customers.

v. Achieved cost optimization and measurable ROI on technology initiatives.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

 Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in IT leadership, with at least 5 years in financial services, fintech, or digital banking.

 Proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

 IT Governance, Security, or Cloud : CISA, CISSP, AWS, ITIL, PMP.

 Membership in recognized professional bodies such as Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) or Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE

 Strong understanding of core banking systems, fintech trends, and emerging technologies.

 Expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, and IT risk management

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

 Strategic leadership with the ability to drive digital transformation initiatives.

 Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.

 Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
