Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer

Key Requirements

HND / B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment across utility, process, and production areas.

Practical experience in managing maintenance teams and coordinating technical activities.

Ability to analyze technical issues and recommend practical solutions to reduce downtime.

Basic understanding of power distribution systems and production equipment planning.

Proficient in maintenance planning, recordkeeping, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities across production, utility, and process equipment.

Develop and implement preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead the resolution of breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.

Monitor and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and spare part usage.

Assess equipment condition and recommend or initiate modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Oversee mechanical technicians, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to maintenance protocols and safety standards.

Identify training needs and develop appropriate technical training programs for technicians and operators.

Report on the performance of mechanical systems and escalate issues requiring strategic decisions to the Engineering Manager / Supervisor.

Collaborate with production and other departments to support the achievement of production targets.

Ensure efficient use and budget control of mechanical spares, consumables, and tools.
