Job descriptionProvide effective and inspiring leadership by supervising and being involved in activities and operations of the Company through reviewing, analyzing and providing regular feedback. Oversee the entire budgeting process for the department from proposal to expense control of equipment and logistics. Maintain all necessary records to ensure that vehicles provided by the company comply with legal and business requirements. Negotiate contract with subcontractors to supplement the services provided by the company’s own vehicles and monitor their performance to ensure that it meets company’s standards. Maintain regular contact with the depot managers to ensure the most effective utilization of vehicles across the company. Plan, direct, and coordinate the transportation operations within the organization or the activities of organizations that provide transportation services. Overseas supplies, coordination with transporters for on-time deliveries to customers and depots. Regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency to minimize downtime. Ensure continuous reduction in all operational costs & outsourcing of services to third party where necessary. Monitor operations to ensure transport policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations are followed. Conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures. Prepare weekly and monthly reports detailing the effectiveness of the fleet. Any other duties assigned. Effective management and delegation Good knowledge of vehicles. Excellent financial planning and organizational skills. Understanding of a multi-faceted business operation. Bachelor’s degree in management, industrial engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years progressive experience in a key leadership / management role Member of professional body.
