We are recruiting to fill the position below :

Job Position : Cashier

Job Location :   Benin City, Edo

Employment Type : Full-time

The Role : Custodian of Trust and Precision

  • As a Cashier at our luxury hotel, you are the critical guardian of our financial integrity and the final touchpoint of a guest's seamless journey.
  • Far more than a processor of transactions, you are an ambassador of trust, ensuring every financial interaction is conducted with impeccable accuracy, discretion, and courtesy.
  • Your role is pivotal in solidifying the guest's lasting impression, transforming a simple settlement into a moment of flawless efficiency and personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accuracy & Transaction Processing :

  • Handle all guest financial transactions with supreme accuracy, including check-outs, incidental charges, foreign currency exchange, and cashiering for hotel outlets (restaurants, spa, .
  • Operate the Property Management System (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and credit card terminals with expert proficiency.
  • Reconcile daily transactions, ensuring all postings are accurate and properly documented.
  • Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, investigating and resolving any discrepancies immediately.
  • Prepare and complete daily cashier reports, depositing drops in accordance with hotel security policies.
  • Guest Service & Discretion :

  • Process guest departures efficiently, presenting clear and accurate folios, and resolving any billing inquiries with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Handle sensitive financial matters with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, maintaining guest privacy at all times.
  • Provide a warm, polished, and efficient farewell experience, thanking guests and inviting them to return.
  • Collaborate closely with the Front Desk, Concierge, and F&B teams to ensure all guest charges are captured promptly and accurately.
  • Compliance & Security :

  • Strictly adhere to all hotel financial control procedures, credit policies, and fraud prevention protocols.
  • Verify the validity of all payment methods following established security guidelines.
  • Maintain a secure and organized work environment, safeguarding all financial assets, documents, and equipment.
  • Qualifications & Personal Attributes

    Essential :

  • Degree in Accounting or related field or Educated to a degree level any field ( Experience is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 2 years of cash handling experience in a luxury hotel, high-end retail, or fine dining establishment.
  • Impeccable numerical aptitude and a proven track record of accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, organized approach to work.
  • High degree of personal integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness.
  • Polished and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain charges clearly and courteously.
  • Proficiency with hotel PMS (., Opera) and POS systems, as well as standard office software.
  • Ability to maintain composure and efficiency during high-volume periods.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Desirable :

  • Formal training in accounting, finance, or hospitality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest billing concerns with diplomacy.
