Growth Manager (Digital Acquisition, SEO and Subscriptions)
- Full-time
- Quick Apply
Introduction to the role
Every recurring donation is a child fed, a lesson learned, and a day without hunger. A social-impact initiative that provides free, nutritious school lunches to children in underserved communities is seeking for a Growth Manager to lead its digital acquisition and subscription growth. The role offers hands-on ownership of organic growth, website conversion, supporter retention, and campaign performance, alongside leadership of a small creative team. Non-profit experience is not essential; the priority is the ability to deliver measurable digital growth and sustained supporter engagement.
Who are we looking for?
- You are a growth marketer with demonstrable experience in SEO, digital acquisition, or subscription growth.
- You are someone who has personally grown a paying customer base, subscriber base, or community of regular supporters.
- You are practical in SEO, from keyword research and content planning to on-page work and coordinating technical fixes.
- You are strong in conversion funnels, customer journeys, retention, and digital analytics.
- You are experienced in email marketing, CRM, or lifecycle communications.
- You are data-minded, able to spot problems and turn findings into clear experiments.
- You are a leader who can brief and guide creative and marketing team members and hold delivery to clear expectations.
- You are a strong writer and campaign planner who can prioritise and deliver with limited resources.
- You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable in an early-stage organisation where processes are still being built.
- You are drawn to creating measurable social impact.
- You may also bring experience in subscriptions, consumer fintech, remittances, e-commerce, fundraising platforms, or diaspora campaigns (an advantage, not a requirement).
Your Responsibilities…
Growth Strategy & Subscriber Acquisition
- You will develop and execute a measurable strategy to grow active recurring monthly supporters.
- You will identify priority audiences in Nigeria and abroad, including diaspora communities, and learn what motivates them and what holds them back.
- You will build acquisition funnels from first discovery to first contribution and recurring subscription across search, content, social, communities, and referrals.
- You will test messaging, campaigns, landing pages, and channels, and document what works.
SEO & Organic Discovery
- You will own the SEO strategy for the website, including keyword research, content briefs, on-page improvements, and internal linking.
- You will work with developers on technical SEO, site speed, and mobile usability.
- You will track search visibility, qualified organic traffic, and completed contributions in Google Search Console and analytics tools, and refresh content based on results.
Website Conversion & Supporter Experience
- You will analyse the journey from landing page to completed donation or subscription, find where people drop off, and fix the causes.
- You will test landing pages, calls to action, donation messaging, and subscription flows.
- You will make it clear how contributions are used and how impact is reported, and work with technical colleagues to reduce payment and mobile friction.
Activation, Retention & Subscription Growth
- You will build onboarding, follow-up, renewal, repeat-giving, and reactivation journeys by email, WhatsApp, and other channels, respecting consent and preferences.
- You will turn verified delivery updates into timely supporter communications, and encourage one-time givers to become recurring supporters.
- You will track cancellations, lapses, and failed payments, set up recovery journeys, and analyse retention by channel, audience, and cohort.
- You will create referral opportunities that make it easy for supporters to introduce others.
Analytics, Insights & Experiments
- You will set up reliable tracking using Google Analytics 4, Search Console, Tag Manager, and CRM tools, with consistent naming and metrics.
- You will reconcile marketing reports with confirmed payments, accounting for failed transactions, refunds, and duplicates.
- You will build a weekly dashboard and run a prioritised programme of experiments with clear hypotheses.
- You will produce concise weekly reports and monthly recommendations on where to invest time, effort, and budget.
Team Leadership & Campaign Execution
- You will lead the Social Media Manager and the Creative & Multimedia Designer, turning growth priorities into clear briefs, timelines, and performance expectations.
- You will set a weekly planning and review rhythm, and direct landing-page assets, supporter stories, and campaign creative.
- You will work with programme colleagues so messaging reflects verified activities, and make sure stories and images portray children and communities accurately and respectfully.
Outreach, Partnerships & Audience Development
- You will research and approach online communities, diaspora groups, creators, newsletters, and organisations with audiences aligned to the mission.
- You will build referral and collaboration opportunities, test community and newsletter campaigns, and track which activities lead to completed and retained contributions.
- You will support the Corporate Partnerships Team with audience research and campaign materials, and hand over organisational enquiries while corporate sponsorship sales stay with that team.
Paid Growth (when the model is ready)
- You will develop a paid acquisition strategy with clear objectives, test budgets, and decision criteria once tracking and conversion are reliable.
- You will run controlled experiments on platforms such as Google and Meta, using what organic channels have taught you about audiences, messaging, and landing pages.
- You will track cost per acquired paying supporter, retention, and contribution value, and recommend whether to scale, refine, or stop each campaign.
What Success looks like…
