Role Overview :
As the Program Assistant, you will primarily provide program support for Surge Africa's operations. On a secondary note, you will handle administrative tasks such as assisting with hiring, expense tracking and Human Resources. Read more here. This role is fully remote.Responsibilities :
Assists in organising programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organisationAssists team members in preparing and formatting documents, including Slides / PowerPoint presentationsContinuously reviews and improves program evaluation, delivery and methodologiesDevelops and maintains an efficient filing system for the team, including assistance in processing applications for proposals as required and maintains a tracking system of responses to proposalsMaintaining office calendars and sending out reminders of impending appointmentsCoordinates the translation, proofreading and editing of documents as requiredAssists in organising regular team meetings and conference calls / video conferences, including the preparation and distribution of documentsAttending staff meetings and taking minutes with the assistance of and coordination with the Program team as requiredAssisting in managing the budget for special and routine eventsMaking reservations for various off-site business meetings and eventsRelaying internal emails to staffAssists in the orientation of new employees, providing them with the necessary documents and materials for orientationAssists with payroll managementPerforms other related duties in accordance with instructions from team members.Skills and Qualifications :
3 years or more working experience in program support, administration and human resourcesEffective skill in developing and executing both in-person engagements and online eventsCompetency in digital software and virtual workspacesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent interpersonal and time management skillsAbility to multitask and good hold of strong organisational skillsPolite, clear and compelling communication skills.A good understanding of climate change and its landscape
