ROLE SUMMARY

To support R&D activities involving API process development, laboratory process validation, troubleshooting, documentation, sample management, feasibility and process optimization studies, new product trials and HAZOP activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To synthesis of potential process related impurities and reported polymorph of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).
• To plan and perform lab process validation of developed process.
• To organize lab trials for trouble shooting of process related problem in plant & approve final solution.
• To approve or disapprove a reprocessing procedure.
• To prepare R&D documents like Documents for Drug licenses approval from local regulatory agency, Process feasibility study report and process optimization study report, Key raw material user trial report for vendor qualification procedure, Technology Transfer Document, Product scale up report, Product development report, Chemistry manufacturing & control, Polymorphism study etc.
• To maintain record & storage of the samples.
• Checking of R&D experimental data, analyse & reporting to department head.
• Ensure strongly implementation of statutory compliances under ISO & WHO-GMP certification.
• To ensure proper stock of impurities in the laboratory, and upgrade the stock by sending timely indents, requisition to R&D.
• To control documents of external origin.
• To retain samples for specified period.
• To provide training on subject matters.
• To plan the feasibility study, process optimization study and what if study for new products.
• To plan & organize lab trials for new product development & to approve final process for giving to production department.
• To conduct HAZOP study of the products in coordination of Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• B.Pharm./B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• 5-8 years of research and development experience in chemical synthesis or the pharmaceutical API industry.
