Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair crane electrical systems
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using appropriate testing equipment
• Maintain control panels, wiring, motors, starters, batteries, relays and sensors
• Troubleshoot crane controls, drives, limit switches and emergency-stop systems
• Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
• Conduct functional tests after repairs and maintenance
• Respond to electrical breakdowns at project and field locations
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, faults and repairs
• Follow company HSE, electrical safety and crane safety procedures

Key Requirements

• Certificate, Trade Test, OND, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Crane Electrician, Heavy Equipment Electrician, Industrial Electrician or similar role
• Proven experience with crane or heavy lifting equipment electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of wiring, control circuits, motors, starters, drives, sensors and control systems
• Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Experience with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
• Knowledge of crane safety and electrical safety procedures
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, LMI, CAN-bus or computerized diagnostics is an advantage.
