We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our team and contribute to the delivery and development of exceptional cardiovascular services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with cardiovascular conditions.
• Conduct specialist consultations and develop evidence-based, individualised treatment plans.
• Perform and interpret appropriate cardiovascular investigations, including ECG, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and other relevant diagnostic procedures.
• Manage acute and complex cardiovascular cases and provide appropriate clinical interventions or referrals.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in clinical reviews, case conferences, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior doctors and other members of the clinical team.
• Promote patient safety, excellent patient experience, infection prevention, and high standards of clinical practice.
• Support the growth and development of LECC's cardiovascular services and specialist programmes.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Fellowship/Membership of a recognised postgraduate medical college in Cardiology or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years' post-specialisation experience in Cardiology.
• Demonstrable experience managing a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including complex cases.
• Strong clinical judgement and evidence-based approach to patient care.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-working skills.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous professional development.
• Current registration and licence to practise in Nigeria.
