Colourbox Early Learning Hub is looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Childcare Practitioner / Early Years Assistant to join our growing early years team in Opebi, Ikeja.

We welcome applications from experienced childminders, nannies, nursery practitioners, creche workers and childcare assistants who have a genuine passion for caring for and supporting young children aged 0–5 years.

The Role

Working as part of our early years team, you will support the Room Leader in providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and develop.

You will be expected to:

• Support the Room Leader with the daily running of the room and planned activities.
• Provide warm, responsive and attentive care to children throughout the day.
• Support children's learning, play, routines and development.
• Assist with feeding, nappy changing, toileting, sleep routines and personal care as appropriate.
• Help prepare learning resources and maintain an organised, welcoming learning environment.
• Support children with positive behaviour, independence and self-help skills.
• Observe children's interests and contribute to their learning and development.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation within the children's areas and throughout daily routines.
• Ensure toys, resources, equipment and children's spaces are kept clean, safe and ready for use.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the room.
• Follow Colourbox policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and child protection.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with babies and young children.
• Caring, patient, warm and nurturing.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Comfortable supporting children with all aspects of their daily care and routines.
• Proactive and willing to assist wherever needed in the room.
• Able to follow instructions while also using their own initiative.
• Committed to maintaining a high standard of hygiene, safety and care.
• Previous experience as a nanny, childminder, nursery practitioner, creche worker or childcare assistant is highly desirable.
• An Early Years, Childcare, NCE or related qualification is an advantage but experience will also be considered.

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–6:00pm
