• We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent French Teacher who can make learning French engaging, practical, and enjoyable.
• The successful candidate will deliver the approved French curriculum while creating opportunities for students to communicate naturally in French. Particular emphasis will be placed on oral communication, correct pronunciation, vocabulary development, comprehension, and conversational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
• Develop students' ability to speak, listen, read, and write French confidently.
• Place strong emphasis on correct French pronunciation, accent, intonation, and oral communication.
• Conduct regular conversational and spoken French activities.
• Teach French grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, composition, and oral French.
• Create opportunities for students to use French in practical, everyday situations.
• Introduce students to French-speaking cultures, traditions, and communities.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Assess students' language proficiency and monitor their academic progress.
• Provide additional support to students who require assistance.
• Prepare students effectively for internal and external examinations.
• Use role-play, dialogues, songs, presentations, reading activities, and other interactive methods to strengthen language acquisition.
• Encourage students to participate confidently in French conversations and presentations.
• Integrate appropriate digital resources and technology into French language teaching.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of students' assessments and academic progress.
• Participate actively in school programmes, cultural activities, language events, and co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally with parents and school management.
• Support the school's commitment to academic excellence, discipline, character formation, and service.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in French, French Education, Modern Languages, or a related field.
• A recognised teaching qualification is an advantage.
• TRCN certification or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school French curriculum.
• Excellent spoken French and good pronunciation.
• Strong knowledge of French grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, and oral communication.
• Ability to create an immersive and engaging language-learning environment.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Good ICT skills and willingness to integrate technology into language teaching.
• A passion for languages, teaching, and student development.
