We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and strengthen our engineering function while remaining deeply involved in technical execution. This role requires a leader who can combine strong engineering judgement with people leadership, architectural thinking, and hands-on development capability.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for guiding engineering teams in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining scalable digital products and platforms across Seismic Tech. You will work closely with product managers, designers, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate complex requirements into reliable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. While you will provide technical direction and manage engineering delivery, you are expected to actively contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, debugging, system design, technical problem-solving, and engineering standards.

What You Will Do

Engineering Leadership & Architecture

• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and projects.
  
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  
• Review technical designs and guide engineers in selecting appropriate approaches.
  
• Establish engineering standards, coding practices, and development principles.
  
• Provide the engineering judgement required for complex technical decisions.
  

Hands-on Engineering Contribution

• Remain actively involved in software development, debugging, technical reviews, and system improvement.
  
• Review code and technical implementations to ensure quality and maintainability.
  
• Support engineers in resolving complex technical challenges.
  
• Participate in architecture discussions, system design, and technology evaluations.
  
• Contribute directly to critical engineering initiatives where required.
  

Product Delivery & Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  
• Support planning, prioritisation, estimation, and delivery of engineering initiatives.
  
• Ensure engineering teams deliver reliable products within agreed timelines.
  
• Balance business objectives with technical quality and long-term sustainability.
  

Team Development & Mentorship

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members.
  
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, learning, and technical excellence.
  
• Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and growth of engineering talent.
  

Reliability, Security & Performance

• Ensure systems meet requirements for availability, scalability, and performance.
  
• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks and production issues.
  
• Promote strong practices around testing, security, monitoring, and documentation.
  
• Improve engineering processes to increase efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

Who You Are

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with experience leading engineering teams.
  
• Strong background in backend or full-stack software development.
  
• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable production systems.
  
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.
  
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  
• Experience with modern software development workflows, CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices.
  
• Strong programming experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or similar technologies.

Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in AI/ML model development and deployment. Proficiency in Python (preferred), with experience in ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and statistical modeling. Experience with data manipulation tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and SQL. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML Ops tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow). Solid understanding of software engineering practices including version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Would be Nice-to-Have: Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or recommendation systems. Exposure to large language models (e.g., GPT, BERT) and generative AI tools. Knowledge of model interpretability and fairness techniques. Published research or contributions to open-source ML projects.
