Job Summary

• We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices within 24 hours and ensure payments are completed within agreed timelines.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Verify approvals, supporting documentation, invoice amounts, and compliance with the approval matrix.
• Ensure there is no duplication or overstatement of invoices.
• Resolve invoice and vendor discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor payable records.
• Record and reconcile transactions using Excel and/or ERP systems.
• Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports.
• Reconcile vendor payments and maintain proper financial records.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic records of processed invoices.
• Respond to vendor payment enquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Follow up with business units on outstanding vendor payments.
• Monitor essential service payments to prevent disruption of services.
• Follow up on outstanding IOUs and ensure timely settlement.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager/Unit Head.

What We’re Looking For

• Candidates with relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, Accounting, or Administration.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good knowledge of invoice processing, reconciliation, vendor management, and financial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with deadlines and effectively manage multiple transactions.
