Job Description

• We are seeking a highly creative, technically proficient, and detail-oriented Architect to join our team in Victoria Island, Lagos.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative architectural designs, preparing technical and construction drawings, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and providing architectural support throughout the project lifecycle.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of building construction, Lagos planning requirements, and current architectural design practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts, designs, layouts, and detailed drawings for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Translate client requirements into practical, functional, and aesthetically appealing architectural solutions.
• Prepare architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction documentation.
• Produce 3D models, renders, presentations, and design visualisations.
• Prepare and review working drawings and ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, measurements, surveys, and assessments.
• Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other consultants.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with planning applications, approvals, and statutory documentation where required.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Lagos State planning, building, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Monitor construction works to ensure that approved designs and specifications are properly implemented.
• Identify design and construction challenges and recommend practical solutions.
• Review materials, finishes, shop drawings, and samples where required.
• Assist with project cost considerations and ensure designs are aligned with approved budgets.
• Maintain accurate project drawings, records, revisions, and documentation.
• Participate in design presentations, project meetings, and client consultations.
• Keep up to date with architectural trends, construction technologies, materials, and sustainable design practices.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Master's degree in Architecture is an added advantage.
• Professional registration with the relevant Nigerian architectural regulatory/professional body is an advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications and continuing professional development are desirable.

Experience:

• 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in architectural design, construction, real estate, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing architectural designs from concept through detailed design and construction documentation.
• Experience preparing architectural working drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating with engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project professionals.
• Practical experience with construction site inspections and supervision.
• Experience working on residential, commercial, luxury, hospitality, or mixed-use projects is an advantage.
• Previous experience working on projects in Lagos, particularly within high-density or premium developments, is desirable.
• Candidates must have a strong portfolio of completed or ongoing architectural projects.

• Familiarity with the Lagos Island/Victoria Island construction and real estate environment is an advantage.
• Candidates must be willing to work from the company's office in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Required Skills:

• Strong architectural design and conceptualisation skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one 3D/BIM software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, or SketchUp.
• Good knowledge of building construction, materials, detailing, and construction methods.
• Strong understanding of architectural working drawings and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant Nigerian building regulations and Lagos State planning requirements.
• Strong 3D modelling and architectural visualisation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Good project coordination and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant architectural/design software.
• Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally responsible design principles is an advantage.
