About Kodgav

Kodgav is an agritech company that simplifies sourcing food ingredients from Africa for buyers across Europe and North America. We work directly with farmers, processors, and exporters and trade products such as sesame, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, cashew butter, tahini and roasted nuts.

Our customers are the food and beverage industry in the EU, UK and United States. We are early-stage but revenue generating. Our supplier network is the engine of the business, and this role helps us builds it.

The role in one paragraph

You find, qualify and approve the suppliers Kodgav buys from across West Africa and English speaking Central Africa. That means identifying farmers, processing facilities, exporters and aggregators, running them through our verification playbooks, collecting their specifications and, and getting them onto our approved supplier database. You will also manage supplier accounts and coordinate shipments to our customers across Europe and the US. This is a desk role built on outreach, judgment and record keeping, with occasional supplier visits by agreement.

Products you will focus on

Your region (West Africa) carries the bulk of Kodgav's current portfolio products:

• Cocoa. Nigeria is a top-five global producer and cocoa is one of our five core categories.
  
• Cashew, sesame, hibiscus and ginger. All four are existing Kodgav categories with active buyers.
  
• Shea. West Africa is the world's only commercial origin.
  
• New lines we are building: soybean, peanuts, cayenne and chilli, garlic.
  
• Central Africa English speaking markets as coverage extends.
  

What you will own

• Source and qualify new suppliers across West Africa and English speaking Central Africa, by outbound email, phone, and trade networks.
  
• Run each supplier through the Kodgav's supplier verification playbook
  
• Collect and check specifications, certifications, capacity, pricing and lead times.
  
• Move verified suppliers to Approved on our supplier database management and CRM systems.
  
• Run tender outreach by product and by country, following the automated sequences.
  
• Support active shipments and coordinate with the operations team on documentation and timelines.
  
• Plan future shipments within your region.
  
• Keep our databse management and CRM systems accurate.
  
• Report weekly on suppliers contacted, verified and approved, and on what is blocking the ones that stalled.
  
• Document your work so a colleague could pick up any supplier relationship without you in the room.
  
  

Requirements

Must have

• Five or more years in supply chain, procurement, agricultural logistics, with direct supplier development experience.
  
• You have experience qualifying, onboarding or managing suppliers.
  
• Excellent spoken and written English
  
• Confident negotiating on price, terms, and delivery schedules.
  
• Working knowledge of the export process including documentation and food safety expectations.
  
• Organised and accurate.
  
• Reliable power and internet, and your own laptop for the first 90 days.
  

Nice to have

• Cocoa, cashew, sesame, hibiscus, ginger or shea specific experience.
  
• Familiarity with Airtable, HubSpot or a similar CRM.
  
• Experience with organic, GFSI or SEDEX SMETA requirements.
  
• An existing supplier or exporter network in Nigeria or other West African countries
  

This is not the role if

• You are looking for a warehouse or in-country logistics job. This is sourcing and supplier management, done remotely.
  
• You dislike record keeping. Our sales process cannot move without accurate supplier data
  
• You are not comfortable in a relaxed but ambitious startup environment.

Compensation

Monthly salary: ₦500,000 – ₦600,000

Working Model

• Full time role approximately 35 hours per week
  
• Monday to Friday with occasional Fridays off

Requirements
We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of hands on HR operations experience. You have worked at a startup or scaling SME before, which means you are used to wearing multiple hats and building things from scratch rather than inheriting fully formed systems. • Hands on experience with Zoho People and Zoho Recruit, or demonstrably similar cloud based HRIS and ATS platforms (BambooHR, Personio, Workday, or equivalent). If you know Zoho specifically, that is a strong advantage. • Proven experience implementing performance management systems, not just using ones that already existed. • Strong English fluency, both written and spoken. Kodgav operates internationally across the UK, Europe, and Africa, so clear communication is essential. • Reliable high speed internet connection. This is fully remote and we need you consistently online during your working hours. • Self-directed work ethic. You will not be micromanaged. We need someone who sees what needs doing and does it.
