IT officer

Job Description

The IT Officer will ensure the stability, security, and continuous performance of the agency's tech infrastructure, software systems, computer networks, and GDS software integration. This position supports daily operations, mitigates technical downtime, protects client data, and drives technology adoption across all departments.

Responsibilities:

Systems Infrastructure & Support:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot office hardware, network switches, routers, firewalls, printers, and workstation setups.
  
• Serve as primary technical support for internal staff, resolving software, connectivity, hardware, and system access issues quickly.
  

GDS & Software Maintenance:

• Manage software installations, API integrations, booking engine connections, and terminal configurations for GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, etc.) and internal travel management ERPs.
  
• Coordinate with third-party IT vendors, internet service providers (ISPs), and software providers to ensure optimal uptime.
  

Cybersecurity & Data Protection:

• Enforce cybersecurity protocols, user permissions, multi-factor authentication, and antivirus protection across all systems.
  
• Safeguard payment gateway data and sensitive client travel records in accordance with data protection regulations.
  

Data Management & Backups:

• Conduct routine system backups (local and cloud-based) and disaster recovery tests to protect company operational data.
  
• Maintain hardware/software inventory lists and evaluate equipment upgrade requirements as the agency grows.
  

Requirements

• A minimum of an HND in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in network administration, hardware troubleshooting, and system support. Experience supporting GDS setups or travel software is a plus.
  
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are an advantage.
  
• Strong analytical troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of network protocols, cloud management, and software support.
