JOB DESCRIPTION SERVICE ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled Service Engineer with hands-on experience in the Automobile/Automotive industry. The candidate will be responsible for vehicle inspection, troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, breakdown support, and customer service. Candidates with strong experience in automobile servicing, workshop operations, commercial vehicles, or automotive equipment are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automobiles/vehicles.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as per manufacturer/service guidelines.
• Attend to vehicle breakdowns and technical complaints and provide timely troubleshooting support.
• Perform vehicle inspections and identify the root cause of technical problems.
• Coordinate with workshop technicians, mechanics, parts teams, and service managers to resolve vehicle issues.
• Ensure proper use of automotive diagnostic equipment and service tools.
• Prepare service reports, inspection reports, job cards, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure service activities are completed within defined timelines and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure availability of required spare parts for repairs.
• Support warranty inspection, warranty claims, and technical issue resolution.
• Maintain records of vehicle service history, repairs, replaced parts, and recurring issues.
• Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to ensure vehicles are functioning properly.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the Service Manager/OEM technical team when required.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and manufacturer service standards.
