Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced SeniorCivil Engineer with 9–15 years of extensive hands-on experience in the construction industry.
• The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working across multiple construction projects, including buildings, factories, industrial facilities, earthworks, infrastructure and other civil construction projects.
• While a degree in Civil Engineering is an advantage, practical construction experience and a demonstrated track record of successfully executing projects are the primary requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage civil construction activities from project commencement through completion.
• Coordinate and oversee multiple construction projects and ensure timely project delivery.
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, site supervisors, artisans and other construction personnel.
• Interpret and implement engineering drawings, designs, specifications and construction plans.
• Oversee civil works including foundations, concrete works, structural works, earthworks, drainage, roads and other site development activities.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and other resources required for project execution.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify and resolve construction delays.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality of workmanship and materials.
• Identify technical challenges on site and provide practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors, MEP engineers, contractors, consultants and clients.
• Monitor material usage and construction activities to minimise wastage and control project costs.
• Participate in project and site meetings and provide regular progress reports to management.
• Review contractors' work and ensure completed works meet required standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including site reports, progress reports, inspection records and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements on all project sites.
• Support project testing, snagging, rectification and final handover activities.
• Travel to various project locations as required.

Requirements

• 9–15 years of relevant construction experience.
• Proven experience working on multiple construction projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of civil engineering and construction methods.
• Demonstrated experience in site supervision and project execution.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, processes and quality control.
• Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and work across different project locations in Nigeria.
• B.Sc. / B.Eng. in Civil Engineering is an advantage but not mandatory where the candidate has substantial and relevant practical construction experience.
• COREN registration or other relevant professional certification is an added advantage.

Candidates should have substantial experience across multiple construction projects, with exposure to one or more of the following:
